Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between the Applicant (hereinafter referred to as “Applicant”) and Metro Mailbox Inc (hereinafter referred to as “Mail Service”) regarding mail and package receipt services. By using Mail Service, the Applicant agrees to the following terms:

  1. Mail Service Appointment
By completing the required forms, including USPS Form 1583, the Applicant appoints Mail Service as an agent for receiving mail and packages. This service is only valid for the period prepaid by the Applicant. Mail must be collected at least once per week or arrangements made in advance with Mail Service. A mailbox key will be provided, granting access during posted business hours. Possession of the key by a third party will be considered authorization for mail collection.

  2. Mailbox Key Policy
A refundable deposit may be required for the key, which remains the property of Mail Service and must not be duplicated or modified. The deposit will be refunded if the key is returned within ten (10) days after service termination. This agreement establishes a bailment relationship, not a landlord-tenant relationship.

  3. Mail Handling & Liability
Once mail is placed in the assigned mailbox, it is considered delivered. Mail Service is not liable for loss, theft, or damage. Oversized packages will require signature acknowledgment. Mail Service is not responsible for the reliability or timeliness of delivery by the USPS or other carriers.

  4. Compliance with Regulations
The Applicant must adhere to all applicable postal regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Non-compliance may result in service termination without notice, refund, or mail forwarding.

  5. Confidentiality
Applicant information will remain confidential unless disclosure is required by law enforcement or postal authorities. Mail Service will fully cooperate with such authorities when necessary.

  6. Mailbox Usage Limits
A mailbox may serve a maximum of three (3) individuals or entities unless otherwise approved in writing. Each name receiving mail must complete USPS Form 1583 and provide identification. Additional fees may apply for multiple business names. If excessive mail volume is received, Mail Service may require a larger mailbox rental or assess additional fees. Oversized packages must be retrieved within 24 hours, and hazardous materials are strictly prohibited.

  7. Indemnification
The Applicant agrees to indemnify and hold Mail Service harmless against any claims, damages, or losses resulting from service use.

  8. Liability Limitation
Mail Service’s liability for any service disruption is limited to the prepaid rental fees for unused service. Mail Service is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages.

  9. Accountable & Restricted Mail
Mail Service may accept accountable mail (e.g., certified, insured, COD) on behalf of the Applicant. COD packages require full prepayment before acceptance. Restricted delivery mail may only be received with prior written consent via USPS Form 1583.

  10. Payment Terms
Fees are due in advance. Non-payment may result in service cancellation. No prorated refunds will be issued for early termination. Applicants must use “PMB” or “#” in their address designation; using alternative designations may result in non-delivery by USPS.

  11. Service Termination & Mail Handling
Upon service termination, unpaid mail will not be made available. USPS does not forward or return mail from Mail Service locations. If forwarding is desired, the Applicant must provide a forwarding address and pay the associated fees. Mail will be retained for 180 days post-termination in accordance with USPS regulations.

  12. Forwarding Responsibility
The Applicant is responsible for arranging mail forwarding after service termination. This agreement constitutes a “Do Not Forward” notice as per USPS regulations.

By utilizing Mail Service, the Applicant acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
